SERVICES

New Leaf Studio is a practice of experienced and creative landscape architects, based in Bristol and delivering projects across the UK. We offer a range of professional services, taking time to fully understand our client’s requirements and the nature of the site, before providing a detailed quotation specifically tailored to the project, balancing cost, timescales and level of detail needed.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

Landscape architecture simply defined, is the art and process by which the spaces and environment in which we live and work, can be arranged, modified or detailed to be functional and aesthetically pleasing, whilst creating a sense of place. However achieving this involves a careful consideration of the interaction between a wide range of influences such as:

Existing features: the topography and aspect of a site, soil type, existing trees, vegetation or habitats to be retained and protected

The brief: which primarily will come from the client, but may be influenced by consultation with stakeholders and the ultimate users

Practicalities: how end users will populate, move through and experience planned spaces, the need for retaining structures, steps or ramped access to provide full accessibility, vehicle movements turning and parking, routes for escape in case of fire and how this may relate to any buildings, how surface water drainage can be accommodated through SUDS and consideration of how spaces and buildings will be serviced and maintained.

Elements to be included within the design: such as parking, cycle stores or shelters, boundary walls, pergolas or furniture, choice of hard landscape materials, arrangement and choice of boundary types, external lighting and selection of planting to provide year round colour and interest whilst contributing to local biodiversity.

Collaboration: A design may also need to be delivered in collaboration with other consultants such as an Architect , Ecologist, Structural and Civil Engineers.

Our work will usually be delivered through a series of stages, aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work. Landscape Architectural services we provide include:
